How would you like to have people hand-sort through your trash each day? That's what happens here! We take our trash to the garbage pile on the curb, and people sit by the heap and pick through it, looking for cans, bottles, or anything they can use. Recycling has a whole new meaning! It's a little humbling to realize that what I chuck without a second thought is a precious resource to some of my neighbors.
This is a garbage truck, making the rounds. 1-2 men ride on top, and two walk behind. They pick up the trash piles and toss it on the truck. You know when they're in the neighborhood because they honk 3-4 times at just about every house!
